Every night a group of frogs would croak outside my window. They were loud, they were annoying and they were hard to ignore. I would listen to them while silently complaining about how irritating and distracting they were. One day I began to hum as a way to drown out the noise. It worked well enough, so every night I made humming part of my routine. It wasn't long before the frog croaks were background filler. Then I started to sing with confidence and conviction. There was no more croaking. The frogs had moved on. They knew I had discovered my authentic voice and I would be annoyed no more. My hope is that all the frogs in your life will also know to leave when you too start to sing.
